He also serves as local counsel for a number of national and multi-national companies. He came to law after a career in teaching. For some years, he was an Assistant Professor of English at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, specializing in Shakespeare. His publications include a book, chapters of handbooks, reviews, and a number of newspaper and periodical articles in magazines as diverse as The New Republic, Cincinnati, and Renaissance Quarterly. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he has lived in Cincinnati since 1976. He has volunteered for many community boards and was chairman of the board for the Contemporary Arts Center and President of The Literary Club and The Cincinnati Country Club. He also enjoys spending time with his family he and his wife have two daughters, a son, and three grandchildren. Mr. Covatta calls himself one of the last true generalists because he successfully handles an array of many different legal cases.
