When partner Eric Holzapfel decided to enter the field of law, he was motivated by the opportunity to help people.

The law plays a major role in our lives, he explains. I believed that a legal degree would enable me to help clients in a significant way.

Mr. Holzapfel practices at Drew & Ward in the areas of business litigation, employment law, contracts and construction law.

I take a personal interest in my clients' legal problems and work hard to meet and exceed their expectations, he says.

A Sandusky, Ohio native, Mr. Holzapfel moved to Cincinnati in 1971. He graduated from Denison University (B.A., 1968) and Emory University Law School (J.D., 1971).

Mr. Holzapfel was admitted to the bar in Ohio and U.S. District Court Southern District of Ohio in 1972; U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit and U.S. District Court Eastern District of Kentucky in 1975; and the Ohio Supreme Court in 1972. He is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio State and American Bar Associations. Mr. Holzapfel is also an active member of the Construction Law, Common Pleas, and Joint Cincinnati Bar and Board of Realtors committees of the Cincinnati Bar Association. Mr. Holzapfel has lectured before the Ohio State Bar Association on the topic of fraud in the sale of real estate and has spoken at construction law seminars on the topics of Eichley damage, water intrusion issues, insurance coverage for defective construction, and the relative merits of various alternative dispute resolutions. Since 2007, Mr. Holzapfel has been named a Ohio Super Lawyer.

On a daily basis, he enjoys interacting with clients and helping them resolve the problems they are facing.

My goal is simply to resolve their legal problems and improve their lives.
