‘SUPER LAWYERS’ LIST OF TOP ATTORNEYS FEATURES THREE DREW & WARD PARTNERS
A unique list of the outstanding attorneys in Ohio this year features three partners with the Drew & Ward law firm.
Frederic Goeddel, Anthony Covatta Jr. and Eric Holzapfel are listed among the "2008 Super Lawyers" published by Cincinnati Magazine, Ohio Super Lawyers and Northern Ohio Live magazine.
The rankings will be printed in the January 2008 issues of the three magazines. The "Super Lawyers" were selected following a survey of more than 34,200 Ohio attorneys asked to vote for the best lawyers they have observed in action - and not by reputation alone. Only five percent of the lawyers in Ohio are named Super Lawyers.
The survey, research and selection are performed by Law & Politics, a division of Key Professional Media Inc. Among the criteria for selection are verdicts, settlements, transactions, experience, pro bono activity, scholarly lectures and writings, and bar activities. The entire list can be viewed on-line at www.SuperLawyers.com.
"We appreciate this honor that reflects our high quality standards of service to our clients," said Mr. Goeddel. His particular area of concentration is family law, including divorces, dissolutions, property division, support and alimony issues, custody and visitation matters. He is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and also offers mediation services.
Mr. Goeddel also practices in other forms of civil litigation, estate planning and probate. This is the fifth consecutive year he has been named to the Super Lawyers list.
"This list is comprised of attorneys from a variety of large and small firms with many different specialties, but they share a dedication to integrity and service," said Mr. Covatta. "And we are proud to be recognized among them."
Mr. Covatta practices in the areas of corporate law, labor and employment law, general litigation, franchising and real estate law. He represents several large medical groups in the area as well as closely-held businesses and serves as local counsel for a number of national and multi-national companies. This is the fourth year Mr. Covatta has been named to the prestigious list.
This is the second consecutive year for the honor for Mr. Holzapfel, who practices at Drew & Ward in the areas of business litigation, employment law, contracts and both commercial and residential construction law.
"It is an honor to be recognized as part of this exclusive group and for the hard work that we perform on behalf of our clients," Mr. Holzapfel said.
The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in the search for legal counsel.
In 2008, Drew & Ward Co., LPA celebrates its 50th anniversary, enjoying a strong history of service: service to clients, service to the law, and service to the community. Ray Drew and Dick Ward opened their office in the Central Trust Tower (now the Fourth & Vine Tower) in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958. Both were pilots during World War II and returned to pursue legal careers after admiring attorneys in their own families. The two founded the firm based on the ideals of serving clients with good counsel, cost effective solutions and hard work.
