As he carries out his administrative duties, Mr. Jordan said he is very conscious of the philosophy by which Drew & Ward has been operating for nearly 50 years.
“The firm has always been built on the concept of service – to clients, to the law and to the community. The word ‘service’ is crucial, and I intend to make sure that commitment continues to be fulfilled,” he explained.
A Cincinnati native, Mr. Jordan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is certified as a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) – a combination of certifications that few attorneys have earned.
He also has served as an adjunct professor at Mt. St. Joseph and advisor to the Cincinnati Paralegal Association. Mr. Jordan has written more than 60 articles on tax law and estate planning, and has given numerous presentations and training seminars across the nation on estate planning.
Among his first duties, Mr. Jordan noted, is active recruitment at the firm “to build for the future.” “We’re looking for professionals to join us in a congenial, entrepreneurial environment.”
Mr. Jordan also said he is anticipating 2008, when the firm will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Attorneys Ray Drew and Dick Ward opened their office in the Central Trust Tower (now the Fourth & Vine Tower) in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958. Both were pilots during World War II and returned to pursue legal careers after admiring attorneys in their own families. The two founded the firm based on the ideals of serving clients with good counsel, cost effective solutions and hard work.
“Excellent legal service has always been the hallmark of Drew & Ward, and I believe we have a wonderful team of people here,” Mr. Jordan said. “I hope to see that we keep it going for another 50 years.”
