Ohio Residential Real Estate Law Attorneys

A residential real estate closing can be an exciting, rewarding event. The purchaser anticipates the benefits of home ownership, and the seller is free to move forward. At Drew & Ward in Cincinnati our attorneys recognize that for these families, the home typically, in addition to being the center of family life, represents a large portion of the family's wealth.

Lawyers in our residential real estate law practice represent lenders, buyers, and sellers. Led by attorney James R. Schaefer, an Ohio State Board Certified Residential Real Estate Specialist, we provide our clients with sound advice and thorough legal services, facilitating smooth closings of property transactions and protecting our clients' financial investments.

“Real estate transactions are large financial commitments, and the work I do impacts my clients economically and emotionally. I try to maximize the satisfaction and minimize the frustration for the client.”

Our law firm's services on behalf of residential mortgage lenders include title searches, title opinions, repair of title defects, and representation at closing. Our attorneys also represent lenders in construction loans.

Our services for sellers and buyers include drafting and review of purchase and sale contracts, deed preparation, and representation at closing. Drew & Ward owns and operates Pro Title, L.L.C., a title agency which provides a full range of title services, including title examination, title work to prepare titles for closing, title insurance, and closing services.

Attorney Jim Schaefer, in addition to being a Board Certified Residential Real Estate Specialist, a member of the Southwest Ohio Land Title Association, and a licensed title insurance agent, is an Ohio Registered Land Examiner for Hamilton County.
