Stephen A. Bailey
Ever since he was in high school, Stephen A. Bailey aspired to be a professional who could use what he learned in undergraduate and post-graduate studies as a basis for a career. That’s what led him to law.
Today, he is a partner at The Drew Law Firm. He has spent his career as a civil trial attorney, practicing primarily in the areas of civil litigation, insurance defense and personal injury. Before coming to The Drew Law Firm, he was a founding partner at the Cincinnati firm Martin & Bailey. He is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio State, Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys and has been inducted into the American Board of Trial Attorneys.
Bailey joined The Drew Law Firm in 2010 because it “provided me a great opportunity to practice law at my own pace without the worry of making sure that financial commitments are being taken care of,” he says.
Bailey, who describes his work style as “aggressive, efficient and practical,” is from Newark, Ohio, and came to Cincinnati in 1963 to attend Xavier University (B.S., 1968). He went on to receive his law degree from the University of Cincinnati (J.D., 1971) He was admitted to the bar in Ohio in 1971.
He likes tackling the role of the person who helps get stressful matters resolved.
“I try to provide a reasonable way to resolve the issues facing the client by either settlement, or if need be, by trying a lawsuit,” he says. “I will only try a lawsuit if all attempts of resolution have failed.”
Outside of the office, Bailey is an avid golfer and is president of the local chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. He also is an assistant football coach at Covington Catholic High School. He resides in Crescent Springs, Kentucky with his wife and son.
