As long as Rodger Moore can remember, he has been interested in the judicial system and the resolution of disputes between parties.  After graduating from Tulane University with his Master of Business Administration degree and working for a large business, he saw the opportunity to help businesses resolve disputes in creative and cost-conscious ways.

He joins The Drew Law Firm as a partner with expertise in business litigation.

“I appreciate the collegiality and entrepreneurship values The Drew Law Firm represents,” he says. “Like a successful business, the firm equips you with the tools you need to succeed and then expects you to use them.”

He sees himself as “both a soldier and a sage” for each client. He says he likes to take one party’s side in a dispute and trying to advance it to that party’s goal as creatively and cost-consciously as possible.

“Most lawyers are taught to put a dispute right into the litigation ‘machine’ by filing a complaint and then walking the dispute through the litigation stream,” he says. “Obviously, this is not always the best route to success and often leads to huge legal bills with no real thought about what’s best for the client. Before I start working on a case, I have a strategy discussion with each client, telling them how the litigation process works, the likely routes their dispute might take, the reasonable likelihood of each route, and the estimated cost. This allows a client to know, before the litigation even exists, what might happen — and if the litigation is game-planned properly, what is likely to happen.”

Mr. Moore, a member of the Professionalism Committee of Cincinnati Bar Association, prides himself in being “strategic, professional and ethical.”

“I’ve found that most clients, whether they are general counsel, a medium- or small-business owner, or a person needing help, are usually a satisfied client when an attorney works hard for them, communicates well with them, and gets the client a fair result at a reasonable cost,” he says. “Clients tend to respect attorneys who keep the client well-informed. “

He also has a way of looking at disputes from as many angles as possible.

“Moving ‘the prism’ to see a set of facts or issue from all sides helps me not only see what’s best for my client,” he says, “but also what the best possible alternative is for all parties.”

Mr. Moore, who lived all over as a child with a father in the military, lived in Arkansas most of his life, where his father became a civil engineering professor and his mother was a grade-school teacher. He and his wife and two small children have adopted Cincinnati as their home.
